Fabric Care Guide

“A handwoven saree is not just a garment; it is a legacy. With the right care, these threads of heritage can be passed down through generations, carrying stories of grace and craftsmanship.”

Silk Masterpieces

Cleansing

Always entrust your silk sarees to professional dry cleaners. Water can distort the delicate natural fibers and dull the luster of real zari.

Preservation

Store wrapped in unbleached muslin or soft cotton. Avoid plastic covers. Refold every 3 months along different lines to prevent fiber breakage.

Linen & Cotton

Laundering

Hand wash in cold water using gentle, pH-neutral detergents. For the initial wash, a pinch of salt helps set traditional dyes.

Refinement

Iron while slightly damp on medium heat. Always iron on the reverse side to protect the texture and any subtle surface sheen.

The Zari
Protocol

Zari is the soul of a luxury saree. Protecting its brilliance requires specific attention to detail.

Anti-Tarnish

Place butter paper or acid-free tissue between folds to prevent oxidation of silver/gold threads.

Scent Safety

Avoid spraying perfumes directly on the saree, as chemicals can tarnish the metallic zari over time.

Sun Protection

Never dry in direct sunlight. UV rays are the primary cause of color fading and zari brittleness.

Rest Period

Give your saree a 24-hour rest after wearing before folding it back to allow moisture to evaporate.

A Note on Artisanal Weaves

Because our sarees are handwoven, they possess a unique character. Occasional slubs or slight irregularities in the weave are not defects—they are the hallmarks of genuine human artistry. Treat them with the reverence they deserve.
